Corey Taylor Says His Solo Album Was “The Most Enjoyable Album” He’s Done Since The First SLIPKNOT Record

This is a big week for Corey Taylor. The Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman released his first two solo tracks from his highly anticipated upcoming album. And the album came really quickly to Taylor, who had quite a bit of fun doing it – in fact he claims this was “probably the most enjoyable album that I’ve done since the first Slipknot album.”

Speaking to Kerrang! magazine, Taylor said “I love what I’ve done in the past, I love the projects that I’ve been attached to, but this, honestly, was probably the most enjoyable album that I’ve done since the first Slipknot album. There was such a sense of, ‘We’re doing it together.’ I hadn’t felt anything like that for a really long time, man. People grow apart, relationships become fractious… people stop liking each other sometimes, in certain bands, you know? But with this, it was totally different, because we were all friends before that. We just happened to all play together, and then we formed a band around that friendship, and it all really galvanized it.

“This has definitely made me appreciate making music again, let’s put it that way,” he added.

Is he subtly throwing shade at his other bands or just talking about how much fun he had here?

CMFTand has a scheduled release date of October 2nd. Taylor’s band on the album include guitarists Christian Martucci (Stone Sour) and Zach Throne, bassist Jason Christopher (Prong), and drummer Dustin Schoenhofer (Walls of Jericho).  Listen to the first two singles here.
